Her mother called her Ethel Mermen when she was just a 2-year-old kid, screaming and wailing around the house. In the 5th grade, she chose Julie Andrews for her autobiographical project, British accent, Mary Poppins carpet bag, and all. Every time a show would end, she would bawl her eyes out to her mother because she couldn’t sing and perform the songs she loved with the people she loved. In high school, she watched every Audrey Hepburn film imaginable and collected books from all her idols, including Audrey, Julie, and Gloria Steinem. 😉 Growing up, other kids teased her for being so dramatic and high-spirited about her shows, but in her eyes, and others, she was just a kid who had the gift of knowing what she wanted to do with her life.
Lauren Everett was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the city of music. She studied at CCM’s Preparatory Department from the age of seven until she graduated from Wyoming High School. She attended many summer intensives and was involved in the High School Musical Theatre Intensive group with the department.
Lauren is a proud graduate of Wright State University with her BFA in Acting with Musical Theatre Emphasis.
“I’m so thankful for my training at Wright State,” says Lauren. “I love how I can listen to a song, musical theatre or not, hear what’s happening musically, and I can say to myself ‘where it changes here means a different intent.’ Music, acting, and communication doesn’t feel like three separate things anymore. I can now naturally morph them into one, and that’s so incredible!”
Other than being a passionate actor, Lauren is also very enthusiastic about Yoga. Lauren is a Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 study hours (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance. She studied at DRISHTIQ Yoga in Mason, OH.
Lauren is now a full-time actor with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati with their touring company, TCT on Tour. For more info, click on the “News” tab to find out all about it!
